URGENT HELP FOR OUR KOALAS – DONATIONS NEEDED 

We need your help! It’s happening again. The fires are burning and we need your urgent help.

It’s too sad for words. Our precious koalas… they are having such a tough time again and this time it’s happening to areas which I thought were “safe”.

The fires have started up again and already they are destroying their habitat. I can’t bear to watch what is happening. Land which I would have thought was never in any danger is being impacted.

This has a significant impact for our koalas. We are running out of land. Land where we normally rehabilitate and set our koalas that we rescue back into the wild.

Poor little Benji was rescued and rehabilitated…..We spent months making sure he was ready to return to the wild. Upsettingly, he would have been released right where fires are now…All koalas in care right now are at risk of not having safe habitat to return to. High canopy fires means nothing survives! We are praying for his safety….

I’ve been tossing and turning since the fires began about what to do. We have only one option and that is to acquire some land which is well away from our sanctuary.

We’ve found a big block of land north which would be ideal. It would mean our koalas would be safe. We would be able to locate them to this area as a second centre to rehabilitate them and then set them free.

With the fires burning we have no choice. We are running out of time. We are running out of trees!  I have put all my energy into this rescue. Sleepless nights…. I know Xmas will be away from family searching for our precious koalas.

 it’s all been worth it , it’s why I was put on this planet.. but we need to do something.

We can’t live in fear…
